Warranty conditions valid for Smeg appliances

The conventional warranty (hereinafter, “SMEG Professional Warranty”) applies, according to the conditions set out below, to SMEG products in the Professional range (hereinafter, the ‘Product’ or the “Products”) purchased in Italy by SMEG S.p.A.'s first purchaser, i.e. the distributor or retailer who has purchased directly from SMEG S.p.A. Italy (hereinafter “SMEG Partner”).

The application of the SMEG Professional Warranty is subject to the registration of the Product in the portal https://ssc.smegtech.com/professional/it/.

In case of registration of the Product, within 6 months from the date of purchase, the international SMEG Partner is acknowledged the SMEG Professional Warranty for 12 months starting from the date of installation;

The SMEG Professional Warranty has as its object exclusively the supply of spare parts resulting necessary against ascertained manufacturing defects of the Product, being instead excluded labor costs, unless different contractual conditions agreed between the parties.

In the absence of registration by the SMEG Partner and, in general, for the end users of the Product, the warranty for defects in the product sold is provided for and governed by art. 1490 et seq. of the Civil Code and starts from date of purchase.

 LIMITS OF LIABILITY:

Smeg disclaims all liability for any damage that may, directly or indirectly, be caused to persons, property and domestic animals as a result of failure to comply with all the prescriptions set forth in the Instruction Booklet supplied with the product, mainly concerning warnings on installation, use and maintenance of the appliance.

 

 EXCLUSIONS:

 

  • Interventions on defects due to unsuitable, negligent or neglectful use, improper use, failure to observe the instructions for the operation of the appliance, repairs carried out with non-original spare parts, by unauthorized technical personnel, tampering and/or damage in transport (dents, scratches, etc. ), or to circumstances that, in any case, cannot be traced back to manufacturing defects in the appliance;
  • Interventions concerning installation, connection to the supply and drainage systems, preparation of the appliance for conditions of use, detergent adjustments, rinse aid, product restoration and/or cleaning operations for the presence of limescale, as well as ordinary and extraordinary maintenance reported in the instruction booklet supplied with the product as an integral part of the sales contract;
  • All parts external to the product on which the user can work directly during use and/or maintenance or consumable parts or parts that are subject to wear and tear with normal use (such as, but not limited to, pans, grids, baskets, gaskets, light bulbs, knobs, etc. ), removable parts, glass, plastic, rubber and enameled parts, external hoses, accessories and consumables, unless it can be proven to be a manufacturing defect;
  • Rust formation and stains on steel caused by the use of unsuitable detergents;
  • Defects resulting from domestic use of a product manufactured for professional use: in this case, legal responsibilities are placed entirely on the seller with the exclusion of any recourse against Smeg
