Smeg Professional awarded second place at the BarAwards Innovation Award 2026

Smeg Professional is proud to announce that its Pura undercounter dishwasher featuring the innovative DHR (Drain Heat Recovery System) has been awarded second place at the BarAwards Innovation Award 2026.
The award was officially presented during the BarAwards ceremony held in Milan on 15 July 2026, recognising the most innovative solutions shaping the future of the hospitality industry.

The DHR system has been developed to improve the energy efficiency of professional warewashing by recovering the thermal energy contained in the wastewater at the end of each wash cycle. This recovered heat is used to preheat the incoming cold water before it reaches the boiler, reducing energy consumption and enabling faster water reheating for the following rinse cycle. Fully integrated into the machine without increasing its footprint or requiring any additional installation or user intervention, the system delivers greater efficiency while maintaining the same simple and intuitive user experience.
