Smeg Professional has been awarded Second Prize at the Cagnoni Innovation Award 2026, a prestigious recognition presented within SIGEP Vision to highlight the most innovative solutions capable of enhancing efficiency, sustainability and working conditions in professional environments.
The award was granted to Pura, the 500x500 mm hood-type dishwasher, featuring the innovative SHR+ Steam Heat Recovery System. This technology is capable of eliminating 100% of the steam generated during the washing cycle, ensuring a healthier and more comfortable working environment, even in high-intensity professional kitchens.
The SHR+ system also allows for the complete recovery of the energy from condensed steam, which is used to preheat the incoming water to the boiler. This process results in a reduction in energy consumption of up to 25%*, delivering tangible savings and improved sustainability with every wash cycle.
By eliminating steam, the system prevents humidity build-up in the workspace and removes the need for an external hood. SHR+ requires no additional space and enables quick and easy installation. Further economic advantages include the elimination of both the hood motor energy consumption and installation costs.
With this important achievement, Smeg Professional once again demonstrates its commitment to innovation, developing advanced technologies that improve performance, reduce environmental impact and meet the evolving needs of professional kitchens, while looking towards a more sustainable future.
